Upcoming

Just got back from Shanghai. I'll post a few pictures as soon as I fix my phone.

Not too much travel coming up....maybe a Mexico trip around Christmas. We'll see.

If you are planning a trip to China, I preferred Beijing to Shanghai. Why? Shanghai is a newer city that has been influenced by western culture for over a century. This is reflected in the architecture and food around the city. Beijing has much more older sites and sounds, such as the Summer Palace, Forbidden City, etc etc. They are both great for a visit for their own reasons but if I was only going once and had to choose I would go with Beijing.

Next time I go back I would to go to the southern areas and really explore the landscape.

Daily Pics

I'm inspired by one of the blogs I read every now and then....it's a persons daily pics of different parts of the city they live in...
So...I think I'll do the same (seeing as how my phone is attached to me and that's what I use as my camera most of the time).
But...since I forgot my usb cable today, I'll need to do my first upload later tonight...
that's ok as it will give me a few hours to get an interesting picture.
If nothing else this will get me posting regular...

Couple Pubs in London

Just returned from a recent trip to London for St Pat's....and I need a vacation from my vacation. I believe this might be the last of my UK pub tours....it was a good decade and numerous trips and I closed this one where I started it in Hammersmith. There are some great pubs in that area !

2013 !

I'll start the new year by stating....I plan to do a few more posts this year.

I think there will be a few things on the go that we can chronicle...possibly a house (or two) to sell, a few trips (I'm currently in New Orleans, UK is coming up and the better half is heading to Austin and L.A. at some point this year....)

I've got a second wine kit to get going along with my Christmas present (a beer kit !)

That, and lots of pictures...

Hopefully there will be something of interest here.
